  1. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad 


The new state of the art,  thermal scanner at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad(RGIA) is a ceiling-mounted Mass Fever Screening System


It was provided by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in coordination with Asian Development Bank(ADB), and funded by UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund)


It enhances the efficacy of the screening process, as it is capable of scanning, detecting and tracking febrile people.

John Hume was a key architect of Northern Ireland's 1998 Good Friday peace agreement, who won the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in ending 30 years of sectarian violence. 


Good Friday Agreement/ The Belfast Agreement was a peace agreement between the British and Irish governments, and most of the political parties in Northern Ireland(unionists and nationalists), on how Northern Ireland should be governed.

Uttarakhand is getting ready to set up India’s first conservation centre for snow leopards in the forests of Uttarkashi district. 


The centre will be developed by the Uttarakhand forest department, along with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

6. COVID19BWM


Municipal corporations and state pollution boards have been mandated by Supreme Court, to upload data pertaining to collection and disposal of Covid-19 biomedical waste on an app COVID19BWM, created by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).


Recommendations were made  by the Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA), to the Supreme Court, that had flagged the need for tracking and monitoring the biomedical waste

Amit Shah inaugurates international webinar on 'Lokmanya Tilak - Swaraj to Self-reliant India' organized by ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations). 


It was on the 100th death anniversary of the great freedom fighter Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak ( August 1, 1920).

The Swachh Bharat Revolution”, edited by Shri Parameswaran Iyer,  has been translated into Hindi and published as  “Swachh Bharat Kranti.”

10. Swadesh Darshan Scheme


Prahlad Singh Patel virtually inaugurates the 'Thenzawl Golf Resort' Project implemented under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.


11. Spain


Spanish Goalkeeper Iker Casillas announces his retirement. Played for Spain (Country) and Real Madrid (Club) & ended his career while in Porto FC (club).


12. Poland


The Pentagon said that the United States and Poland had completed negotiations on the Enhanced Defence Cooperation Agreement (EDCA), which would enable increased US military presence in Central Europe. 


Objective of the redeployment plan was to strengthen NATO and enhance deterrence against Russia. Poland joined NATO in 1999.



13. Charles Q. Brown Jr.


U.S. Air Force Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. was unanimously confirmed as the Air Force’s chief of staff, and will be the first African-American military service chief in American History.


He will officially take command of the Air Force as its 22nd chief of staff in a ceremony at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Thursday (6th Aug).


General Brown was sworn in by Vice President Mike Pence at Oval Office.

 The Manhattan Project was the code name for the American-led effort to develop a functional atomic weapon during World War II.
