Sarkaria Commisssion
The Sarkaria Commission's charter was to examine the central-state relationship on various
portfolios and suggest changes within the framework of Constitution of India. Set up in 1983

Sattanathan Commission in 1971, which directed that the "creamy layer" should be excluded
from the reservations (quotas) of civil posts.
The Mandal Commission, or the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Commission, was established
in India on 1 January 1979 by the Janata Party government under Prime Minister Morarji Desai with
a mandate to "identify the socially or educationally backward classes" of India.
It recommended that 27 percent of central and state government jobs should be reserved for OBCs

(SDCs) to come up in AP.

The Gandhi-King Scholarly Exchange Initiative Act was authored by John Lewis,
the civil rights leader Democratic member of the House who recently passed away.
The Act seeks to set up, in cooperation with the Indian government, an educational forum
for scholars from the two countries focused on studying Gandhi and King.

The 2020 theme for the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons will focus on the

10. National Clinical registry of COVID-19
The plan is to bring a database of Coronavirus in order to understand ways to improve
treatment in hospitals.
The database, also known as a national clinical registry for COVID-19 patients, to conduct
clinical trials and study the effectiveness of new therapies that are being introduced for treating
corona virus and 15 institutions will be involved to create this network.
11. Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative
CHRI in collaboration with global anti-slavery organisation Walk Free,
launched of a major new international report "Eradicating Modern Slavery: An assessment
of Commonwealth government progress on achieving SDG Target 8.7".
It shows the existing gaps in Commonwealth government responses to modern slavery
& provides roadmap.

The Centre and the States will work together to increase the public investment in the

Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), has developed a medical bed isolation
system, Aashray, to combat COVID-19.
16. IIT Kanpur
Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of
Technology- Kanpur for training, research, and entrepreneurship development in smart grid
technology.
PFC will provide financial assistance of ₹2.38 crore to IIT-K under its CSR initiative.
